All 10 picks, in order.

  1. #1

Best for a light luggage-specific starting point

    Samsonite Accessories Foldable Luggage Cart

Travelers comparing a light cart with a supplied support strap.

    Why it fits

    • Its stated 2.9-pound weight is a useful starting point when the cart must be carried between rolling sections. [1] [2] [3]

    Before you choose

    • The listed dimensions are labeled overall dimensions; verify the closed setup before planning bag storage. [1] [2] [3]

    Check before buying:

    • Platform size, wheel diameter and US stock were not established. Specifications came from the Canadian maker page.

Model: Accessories Foldable Luggage Cart · Black 443801041 · US

  2. #2

Best for a narrow folded cart with published base size

    Kart-A-Bag Flite-Lite 525

Travelers checking a small bag against a precisely specified platform.

    Why it fits

    • The narrow storage width and explicit base dimensions make it easier to plan both bag support and stowage. [4] [5] [6]

    Before you choose

    • The 3-inch wheels and small base call for checking your actual route and luggage footprint. [4] [5] [6]

    Check before buying:

    • Strap inclusion and tested terrain performance were not established. Confirm stock before buying.

    Model: Flite-Lite 525 · 100-pound model · US

  3. #3

Best for a wider aluminum luggage platform

Magna Cart MCX Aluminum Folding Hand Truck

Travelers supporting a larger bag on a folding personal hand truck.

    Why it fits

    • The published 15-inch-wide plate gives larger bags a concrete support dimension to check. [7] [8] [9]

    Before you choose

    • A 25-inch folded length and 6.8-pound cart add bulk that a small travel cart may avoid. [7] [8] [9]

    Check before buying:

    • Included restraint straps and tested pavement or stair behavior were not established.

Model: MCX Aluminum Folding Hand Truck · MCX, aluminum base plate · US

  4. #4

Best for a short folded steel-wire platform cart

    Kart-A-Bag Concorde II

Travelers who want a published base size and less folded length than a 25-inch cart.

    Why it fits

    • Its 18.75-inch storage height offers a useful compactness choice for a steel-wire platform design. [10] [11] [12]

    Before you choose

    • The folded depth is 4.5 inches, so a short length does not mean a thin package. [10] [11] [12]

    Check before buying:

    • Strap inclusion and real-world stability were not established. Confirm current stock.

Model: Concorde II · 150-pound model · US

  5. #5

Best for securing BrightLine bag configurations

    BrightLine Bags Folding Cart

Owners matching a BrightLine bag setup to its maker’s folding cart.

    Why it fits

    • Two included cords and a support strap give BrightLine owners explicit restraint components to plan around. [13] [14] [15]

    Before you choose

    • The listing was marked out of stock; its displayed arrival estimate should not be treated as a firm delivery date. [13] [14] [15]

    Check before buying:

    • Numeric platform and wheel dimensions were not established; confirm how the listed size describes the folded cart.

Model: Folding Cart · Two elastic cords included · US

  6. #6

Best for roller-bearing wheels in a short folded frame

    Kart-A-Bag Concorde III

Travelers specifically comparing wheel construction on a luggage cart.

    Why it fits

    • The roller-bearing wheel specification offers a clear mechanical distinction for buyers comparing similar short frames. [16] [17] [18]

    Before you choose

    • Curb/stair slides do not establish that a loaded cart is easy or appropriate to haul up every station stairway. [16] [17] [18]

    Check before buying:

    • Restraint inclusion and loaded pulling effort were not tested. Confirm current stock.

Model: Concorde III · 175-pound model · US

  7. #7

Best for planning an optional basket setup

Magna Cart MCPLUS Aluminum Folding Hand Truck

Travelers considering a basket for loose travel items alongside supported luggage.

    Why it fits

    • The specified slide-latch option gives this model a separate role from a plain luggage platform. [19] [20] [21]

    Before you choose

    • Choose the correct mechanism and bundle; the basket is not assumed included, and added basket bulk needs its own storage check. [19] [20] [21]

    Check before buying:

    • Basket dimensions, basket load limit and complete folded size with basket were not established.

Model: MCPLUS Aluminum Folding Hand Truck · Sliding-mechanism version, optional basket · US

  8. #8

Best for a compact cart with explicit load-space dimensions

    Mount-It! Premium Folding Luggage Cart

Travelers checking a bag against a small documented support area.

    Why it fits

    • The published load-space and folded dimensions make this a practical fit comparison for a compact luggage cart. [22] [23] [24]

    Before you choose

    • The small load space needs a bag-footprint and balance check; the stated rating does not establish stability with your luggage. [22] [23] [24]

    Check before buying:

    • Cart weight, wheel diameter and stair capability were not established; verify current stock.

Model: Premium Folding Luggage Cart · MI-914 · US

  9. #9

Best for three specified handle settings

Mount-It! Folding Luggage Cart and Dolly

Travelers comparing handle adjustment positions for carrying unwheeled bags.

    Why it fits

    • The three listed settings offer a clear adjustment choice for different parts of the journey. [25] [26] [27]

    Before you choose

    • A supplied cord and stated capacity do not establish a stable fit for every duffel or suitcase. [25] [26] [27]

    Check before buying:

    • Folded dimensions, cart weight, platform size and wheel diameter remain unconfirmed; verify them and stock before choosing.

Model: Folding Luggage Cart and Dolly · MI-912 steel · US

  10. #10

Best for evaluating a six-wheel design

    Magna Cart MCX-6WPLUS

Travelers comparing wheel layouts for a route with thresholds.

    Why it fits

    • The six-wheel layout and included bungee offer a distinct option to inspect against your route and bag setup. [28] [29] [30]

    Before you choose

    • The marketing does not establish a separately tested stair load rating or compatibility with your station’s step geometry. [28] [29] [30]

    Check before buying:

    • Stair pulling effort, individual wheel diameter and loaded train-boarding performance were not established. Use an elevator route where available.

Measure both the bag support and the folded cart

The MCX has a 15 × 11-inch plate; Flite-Lite 525 has a 7.625 × 8.25-inch base. MI-914 lists a 10.75 × 8.5-inch load space. Check where your bag actually rests, how its straps attach and whether anything hangs past the edge. Then plan space for the folded cart: a wide platform and a thin fold are different advantages. [7] [5] [23]

Choose by the whole journey, not the largest rating

Samsonite and BrightLine specify 70-pound capacities; MCX and Concorde II specify 150 pounds. These are maker ratings, not advice to take that weight onto a train. Before choosing, plan the sections where you must carry the cart or lift the bags and check the carrier’s current luggage and storage rules. [3] [15] [9] [12]

Treat stairs and accessories as separate fit checks

Concorde III lists curb/stair slides; MCX-6WPLUS is marketed for stairs and thresholds. Neither retained listing establishes an independently tested station-stair result. MCPLUS and MCX-6WPLUS also offer a basket latch, but the basket is optional. Check the selected bundle, loaded clearance and route rather than assuming every accessory or staircase suits the cart. How we compared.

Source-based comparison of manufacturer listings opened October 1, 2026, plus a short reading of Mount-It! owner feedback. Individual reports informed fit and reliability cautions, not a conclusion about every unit. Samsonite details were read on its Canadian manufacturer page; confirm the listed model and US availability. We have not tested load ratings, restraint strength, rolling effort, stairs or durability. Ranking prioritizes carryable folded size, bag support and useful attachment choices, with bulkier personal hand trucks included for wider luggage platforms. Freight dollies and large platform trucks were excluded. Capacity is a maker rating, not a recommendation to pack that much or proof of stair performance. Check your actual bag footprint, route, lifting ability and carrier rules. Folding dimensions do not establish permission to board or fit in a particular train’s storage space. Ranking is independent of commissions; no stock or delivery promise is made.
