Start with temperature and airflow controls
FURNO 500 offers twelve heat settings and two fan levels; HG 2320 Eco lists continuously variable airflow. WEN and D26960 document different temperature ranges for their fan stages. Choose the control arrangement your task needs rather than ranking solely by the highest stated temperature. [1] [7] [16] [10]
Treat outlet temperature as a qualified specification
DEWALT’s cordless maximum is measured after 340 seconds just 0.4 mm from the nozzle, while FURNO 500 and HT400 manuals describe heat outputs as approximate. Those figures do not establish the temperature of tubing, wire insulation or an adhesive at working distance. Confirm the material instructions and the selected gun’s operating limits. [22] [2] [20]
Check the nozzle, package and place to rest the tool
Makita supplies four nozzle shapes; PC1500HG is distinct from the PC1500HGA nozzle bundle. RYOBI lists concentrator and deflector tips. Confirm the exact package and recommended nozzle fit, then plan outlet access or the correct battery family and a bench layout that follows the manual. A stand or guarded nozzle is a design feature, not proof of an injury-free setup. [6] [15] [30] [23] [26]
How we compared.
Source-based comparison of actual maker pages and manuals read October 2, 2026; no hands-on temperature, runtime or material tests. Adjustable corded guns rank first for a bench with outlet access, followed by compact and existing-battery options. Ten distinct models are included; accessory-only kit variants are excluded. Clint DeBoer’s Pro Tool Reviews cordless comparison emphasizes matching cordless tools to the expected task and runtime; it informs our power-supply checks, not a measured result of our own. Temperatures are stated air-output specifications or settings, not workpiece temperatures or proof of compatibility with every tubing material. Use the instructions for both the selected gun and the material. Differing DeWalt cordless temperature figures remain unresolved.
