  1. #1

A CO2 starting point for larger designs

    xTool P2S

Makers comparing a broad flat working area with a choice of desktop design software.

    Why it fits

    • The 600 × 305 mm work area and CO2 source make this a useful starting point for sizing up flat projects. [1] [2]

    Before you choose

    • LightBurn support excludes the camera and autofocus functions; check the workflow you plan to use. [3]

    Check before buying:

    • The linked page is titled P2S despite its older P2 URL. Confirm the P2S package and current installation and material requirements.

    Model: P2S · 55 W CO2 laser; US configuration, check selected package · US

Check current details at xTool ↗

  2. #2

    A wide 40 W workspace

    xTool S1

Makers seeking a 40 W configuration with a wider flat work area.

    Why it fits

    • The 40 W module pairs a 498 × 319 mm area with USB and Wi-Fi control options. [4] [5] [6]

    Before you choose

    • The quoted working area applies to the 40 W module; other S1 modules have different specifications. [5]

    Check before buying:

    • Confirm that the bundle includes the 40 W module and check which positioning features your chosen software supports.

Model: S1 · 40 W laser configuration; US configuration, check selected package · US

  3. #3

Dual lasers with a larger square field

    xTool F1 Ultra

Makers who want fiber and diode sources in a 220 mm square working field.

    Why it fits

    • The dual sources and 220 × 220 mm standard area provide a useful combination for projects that need both laser types. [7] [8]

    Before you choose

    • Keep the design inside the 220 × 220 mm standard area unless you choose an appropriate extension setup. [8]

    Check before buying:

    • Confirm the selected US bundle, enclosure and ventilation setup, and current Studio features for your planned materials.

Model: F1 Ultra · 20 W blue diode laser plus 20 W fiber laser; US configuration, check selected package · US

Check current details at xTool ↗

  4. #4

    A larger CO2 project area

    xTool P3

Shops planning larger flat projects around a desktop-computer workflow.

    Why it fits

    • The 915 × 458 mm processing area gives larger projects more room than the P2S’s 600 × 305 mm field. [11] [2]

    Before you choose

    • The current FAQ specifies xTool Studio on PC and excludes LightBurn and mobile/iPad XCS. [12]

    Check before buying:

    • Measure the installation space and check current power, ventilation and material requirements; optional modules and accessories are separate buying checks.

Model: P3 · 80 W CO2 laser; optional infrared module excluded; US configuration, check selected package · US

Check current details at xTool ↗

  5. #5

Dual sources with a small square field

    LaserPecker LP5

Makers whose designs fit a 100 mm square and who want both fiber and diode sources.

    Why it fits

    • Both 20 W sources are available in the same machine, with Design Space and LightBurn listed as software options. [13] [15]

    Before you choose

    • The 120 × 160 mm figure describes an ellipse; check the design outline against that field, or use the listed 100 × 100 mm square area. [14]

    Check before buying:

    • Check the enclosure, slide extension and other accessories included in the selected US package.

Model: LP5 · 20 W 1064 nm fiber laser plus 20 W 450 nm blue diode laser; US configuration, check selected package · US

  6. #6

    CO2 with a passthrough

    Glowforge Pro

Makers who want a browser workflow and a passthrough for long projects.

    Why it fits

    • The CO2 system pairs a documented cutting area with a passthrough for longer stock. [16] [17]

    Before you choose

    • The control workflow requires internet and Wi-Fi, so check the connection at your intended workspace. [18]

    Check before buying:

    • Check passthrough stock limits and the current manufacturer installation, ventilation, and operating instructions; this pick is Pro, not Pro HD.

Model: Pro · 45 W CO2 laser; US configuration, check selected package · US

  7. #7

    Small-format diode and infrared work

    xTool F2

Makers whose designs fit a 115 mm square and who use a Windows or Mac computer.

    Why it fits

    • The two laser sources share a compact 115 × 115 mm standard work area. [19] [20]

    Before you choose

    • The standard field is smaller than the F1 Ultra’s 220 × 220 mm area. [20] [8]

    Check before buying:

    • The current product FAQ excludes LightBurn. Check extension accessories, enclosure and ventilation needs for the intended setup.

Model: F2 · 15 W blue diode laser plus 5 W infrared laser; US configuration, check selected package · US

  8. #8

Laser and inkjet in one craft system

    xTool M2

Crafters who want to compare a combined laser-and-color-printing system.

    Why it fits

    • The 20 W laser configuration and CMYK module combine two processes in one machine. [22]

    Before you choose

    • The 426 × 320 mm figure is the laser area; check the separate print-area specification for combined projects. [23]

    Check before buying:

    • Confirm the 20 W module, inkjet contents, printing area and compatible supplies in the selected package.

Model: M2 · 20 W blue-light laser configuration with a CMYK inkjet module; US configuration, check selected package · US

  9. #9

Diode and infrared with mobile control

    LaserPecker LP4

Makers considering a dual-source machine with a mobile Bluetooth workflow.

    Why it fits

    • The LP4 combines diode and infrared sources and lists a mobile Bluetooth connection. [25] [27]

    Before you choose

    • Its larger 160 × 300 mm working area requires the slide extension. [26]

    Check before buying:

    • Confirm the usable outline for your design; LightBurn requires the specified firmware and USB connection. Check enclosure and extension contents in the US package.

Model: LP4 · 10 W 450 nm blue diode laser plus 2 W 1064 nm infrared laser; US configuration, check selected package · US

  10. #10

    Letter-size craft projects

    Glowforge Spark

Crafters choosing projects around a small cutting area and a web app.

    Why it fits

    • The published 8.5 × 11 in cutting area gives a clear project-size starting point, with a web app for control. [29] [30]

    Before you choose

    • The 12 × 12 in maximum stock size is larger than the cutting area; keep the design within the listed cutting limits. [29]

    Check before buying:

    • Check the current compatible-material list and installation requirements, including ventilation. Confirm Wi-Fi at the intended workspace.

Size the design, then the workspace

Processing area and stock size are different measurements. Glowforge Spark accepts stock larger than its cutting area, while the LP5 distinguishes its elliptical field from a smaller full square. [29] [14]

Choose the software before the machine

Software support varies by model. P3 uses Studio on PC, Glowforge Pro uses a web interface with internet, and P2S supports LightBurn with limits on camera and autofocus features. [12] [18] [3]
