Choose the mount before the lumen number

A magnetic bar can aim from a suitable steel surface; a clamp can work where a magnet cannot attach, provided its opening and working space fit. PCL663B and PCL665B clamp up to 1-3/4 in. The underhood carrier uses a different approach across the hood: its manual lists 48–78 in, while the current page says 47–78 in. Verify actual fit at that lower boundary before ordering. [1] [25] [28] [7]

Compare hours at a stated mode and battery

Klein lists 9 hours at 460 lumens and 16 hours at 175 lumens. Streamlight states 3.75 hours for its 800-lumen cool-white mode. COAST’s 28-hour figure belongs to 115-lumen low mode, not its 840-lumen high setting. Where a page gives hours without a tested brightness or pack capacity, do not turn that number into a high-output runtime promise. [12] [15] [24] [3] [18] [27]

Check the charging revision and use instructions

M12 and ONE+ bare lights need compatible batteries and chargers. The Klein page conflicts on USB-C versus Micro-USB input, so verify the supplied unit’s connector. The M12 ROVER manual expressly prohibits outdoor use despite its IP54 description. A protection rating is not permission to ignore the model’s use instructions. [5] [6] [8] [26] [11]

Source-based research reviewed September 30, 2026. A focused owner discussion about automotive lights informed our attention to bar clearance, mounting and runtime modes; individual reports are not a durability ranking or owner consensus.
